Default F1 2010

New season starts at the weekend. No obvious fastest team after the preseason testing but Ferrari are looking strong but hopefully they'll cock it all up.

Could be a good season with everyone seemingly so close and with quite a few top drivers with competitive cars. Also the new teams could add some interest. Wonder what the betting is for how many times Hispania will be lapped in the first race?

Entered the metro fantasy motor racing game out sheer boredom. If anyone else fancies it the link is below. If anybody joins I'll set up a mini league.

I've got my money on Vettel, Hamilton and Button this year.

The smart money is on Vettel I think, the RBR was the quickest car last year and Newey is still great. The only thing that worries me about them is how hard they will be on their tyres.

Hard to write Schumi or Alonso off, but Ferrari haven't been bulletproof for the last few seasons and Mercedes look a little off the pace.

If Jenson has a good start, I'll lay my bet on him, got odds of 13/1 which is ridiculous for the reigning WDC in a McLaren that looks quick. Especially with the rule changes supposed to be helping him.

Will sign up to the fantasy game later.

Aye. No refueling basically led everyone to be cautious with tyres in an attempt not to pit.

Looks like qualifying is going to basically decide the winner of the race even more so than previous season's.

Don't think the track helped matters either. Is it just me or do all the new tracks produce the duller races?

Bring back the old Hockenheim ring where people couldn't see what was happening for quite a lot of the track. Made it much more interesting

Button keeps making great decisions with tyres in these wet/dry races. The 2 McLaren's at the end were a class above anybody else in the field.

Anybody else not enjoying watching Schumacher struggle? Thought I would love to see him struggle but it just seems a little sad to see him being outclassed by the current crop of drivers.

I completely agree CT.

His car did look horrible yesterday though. I have heard they're building a brand new chassis for him because something did seem clearly wrong. He was unable to put the power down whereas Rosberg had no issues with it.

We've had 3 excellent races since Bahrain, Barcelona will be a bore as per usual though.

Been a good season so far. Great race yesterday. This title battle should be absolutely brilliant.

RBR clearly favouring Vettel though :thdn:

Really enjoyed yesterdays race.

It looked like all 4 of the front 4 drivers were pushing really hard throughout the race. Which pretty much showed up with them all exchanging fastest laps.

Can't believe Vettel could even attempt to blame Webber for that incident. Nice to see the contrast when the McLaren's then had a battle but both drivers played it hard but fair and the team still came out with the 1-2.

Seems to be a few conspiracy theories being thrown around about the fuel saving messages given to the drivers in both teams.

The track at Turkey looks to be one of the better new ones in terms of racing. PLus that long turn 8 looks amazing.

Vettel seems to be a cunt, i really thought he was a nice guy, but he obviously thinks that the team and Webber should just do everything for him to win the WC.
if Ferrari can actually improve their car a little bit, this could be one of the best seasons ever.

Ferrari need to improve by more than a little bit. They're way behind RBR and McLaren now, who will both improve as well.

It seems as if Ferrari are slowly heading back to the sort of team they were before Todt, Brawn, Schumacher, etc came in and sorted them out in the 90s. From what I remember when i first started watching F1 was that Ferrari had loads of heritage and a great name but couldn't produce a decent reliable car for love nor money.
